This is the plan package for my Halloween Silhouette project and YouTube video
This is a collection of Halloween themed patterns. The idea is that you can cut these out from some thin material, such as 1/8" (3mm) thick hardboard, spray paint them, and then hang them on a door or in the window, to provide some Halloween decor.
As a woodworking project these are quick and simple. You can make these with nothing but a jigsaw and a drill -- though a bandsaw and/or scroll saw are very nice!
The plans consist of a 29 page PDF file, consisting of: three different pumpkin designs, and some bats for fun. They are laid out in a set of 1:1 plans -- simply cut out the one you want, glue it to some wood, and then you can cut it out by following the lines.
NOTES ABOUT 1:1 Plans The 1:1 plans have a diagonal and square grid overlay to help you in assembling the pages together into one big plan. The grid squares are 2" on a side. After printing out your desired patter, you need to trim off the unprinted edges, and then you use the grids to help you align the separate pages together, which you then tape together to make one large pattern.
You will need to ensure that your printer is printing at a true 100% in order to get an accurate plan. You can check this by first printing out a few pages and measuring the grid overlay, and then making any needed adjustments on your print menu -- for example, setting it to print at 98% or 102% as needed -- and then testing again.
That said, there is nothing critical about the sizes -- you can also intentionally zoom or shrink these patterns to suit your own needs.
